In New Zealand they have trained dogs to drive cars because they wanted to show how smart rescue dogs can be.
What do you think about this? Do you think they met their goal (showing how smart rescue dogs are)? Why or why not?
Be sure to respond with correct spelling, capitalization, and punctuation!

I think it is very interesting to see a dog drive!
I do think they met there goal.
Would you be in the same car as a fog drives?
I know I would not.

I would definitely NOT want Sawyer to be my chauffeur... :)
However I do think it is very intriguing that some dogs are smart enough to learn how to drive. It makes me wonder a lot of different things...
I wonder if all dogs could learn that, or if it's just a few species...
I also wonder if the dogs really know what they are doing, or if they are just following commands...
I know I told you about how I taught Sayer to spell 'cookie'. I don't think that he really knows how to spell. I think what I really taught him is that when I say the letters C-O-O-K-I-E he knows it means he gets a treat.
How do you think we could tell the difference between whether a dog understands, or if are they just following a command?

I think it is super smart of the New Zealand scientist to show how smart rescue dogs are by teaching them how to drive! After watching the video, I really do think they met their goal because now I think rescue dogs are a lot smarter than they are given credit.

I agree, Sarah. Before I saw this video I thought a dog's intelligence depended on it's breed, especially because police dogs are usually always German Shepards. In this video though they show a few different breeds of dogs driving, which made me change my mind.
Why do you think police dogs are always German Shepards?

I think it is pretty cool that they are training the dogs to drive cars. If i was a dog I would certinally want to drive a car. I think they did meet there goal on trying to show smarts about rescue dogs. I think they did it because they talked about each step that they did as the video went along. This was cool.

I am astonished that they are teaching dogs how to do things like teach them how to drive. If I was a dog I would certainly want to learn how to do this. I would want to do it every day if I could. Would you want to learn how to drive a car if you were a dog? Would you want to drive it sometimes or all the time?

Yes if I was a dog I would do this all the time Thomas. So I thought wasn't very smart but I was very very very wrong. After watching this video I laugh my face off. Heres a question if you wanted a dog that was very smart like in the video what dog would you pick?
