As a class we have begun reading Wonder by R.J. Palacio and Rules by Cynthia Lord. What do you think of the book? Do you like the character? Why or why not. Use specific details from the text to support your opinions.
I like Auggie and at the same time i dont because sometimes you can get really interested in the book when Auggies's doing something and somestimes you can get a weird feel, for example when he talks about him cutting off his Jedi braid at the back of his head that was kind of weird, but when him and his parents were talking about school i was interested.

Rules is a good book.Catherine and David are different than I expected.Catherine is too over protective and David has better autism than I thought.I never thought that Jason and his mom Mrs.Morehouse would be so uptight, but this book is really interesting.

I like auggie and I don't like him at the same time.First he is really brave because I would'nt be able to live through surgeries all my life. The reason I don't like Auggie is because he is too scared to go to school. He does not like having homework or tests.

Response: I like the book, "Wonder," because of the character of August. Like said, August is just a ordinary boy with a "deformity" (according to the book, a mutation on mitochondria 5) that did not allow him to go to mainstream schools until the fifth grade, in which he is allowed into a middle school. August is friendly to the friends he has, always making jokes. The worst thing is, people always seem to make fun of him just because of his face. This is why I like him for being able to take that much hurt. If I was thrust into the fictitious world of the book "Wonder," with what I know now, I would be friends with August.

I have been reading RULES it so far and its really interesting. Its about a girl named Catherine who has a brother David with autism (I get how she feels). Her BFFL, Melissa, is in Cali with her dad so she only has David to play with. Luckily an elderly moved out a house next to her and the girl who was coming is Catherine's age. When the girl moves to her house Catherine tries to make a move on. When she does, she sees her with Ryan, a boy who's David's bully. So then she makes another friend a the Clinic named Jason. Although he can't talk he is really good friends with Jason.

Rules is a great book because it is very touching how hard Catherine is working to help and teach David the rules because of his autism(one form). This year her summer changes because her next-door neighbor Ms.Bowman moves away. Usually, Catherine spends her summer by her self because Best friend for life, Melissa lives in California with her dad every Summer. She makes friends with the girl next door named Kristi, but it turns out she is friend of Ryan Deschaine a bully to David. Catherine meets a new friend at David's clinics named Jason who is handicapped and mute(cannot speak)

So far in Rules Catherine and Jason have become great friends after Catherine drew a picture of him.David actually thinks that Ryan is his friend even when Catherine doesn't.I just can't wait to see what happens next.Rules is awesome.

I am reading the book Wonder. I like it, but some times I don't understand what is happening. For example, I don't really understand the parts when people are texting. I do like most of the book though. For example, I like when Auggie and Summer talk about why Auggie's face is deformed. I think Auggie is a good kid, that deserves a chance. I suggest you read the book.

I am reading the book Wonder. It is a great book about a boy with a deformed face. His name is August. I would DEFINITELY be friends with August because who cares what he looks like. Its not like you are perfect and neither is August. So that makes him normal. I really love this book. It is the best book I've ever read! (no lie)

Everybody is so sad you left! Brianna was crying her eyes out. :(. In math class, Ms. Fraser had to call her up to her desk and ask what was wrong. I will comment on here a lot so I can keep in touch with you!!! ;)

Sarah N. is right. I hardly ate lunch, and when Sean saw you leave he told everybody at the table. They're all like SHH! Mrs. Durant even had to come over because my head was down and I wasn't eating. Everyone was comforting me throughout today and the next day.
